little house (not) on the marsh

i figure that since this blog is named after our lovely abode it is only fair that we give it a post.

delicious sunlight.
in the two years that i have resided in the house there has been an oddly high number of people who have had the pleasure of living here, between the roomies and the subletters. the house has remnants of all these friends in its decorations, it's quite nice.

silly me.
last year i lived here with two lovely ladies, becca and sarah. we called ourselves 'becca and the sarahs', like a band but cuter. they are responsible for many of the decorations and things that make the house so endearing, and also i miss them to bits.

like the crane parade!
the house itself is an oldie but goodie that was redone on the inside and divvied in half to create a super cool duplex that almost doesn't feel like a duplex. #youwouldthinktheyweighedthousandsofpoundsthewaytheygoupthosestairs. in terms of decor we essentially went with a 'make the entire room a collage of all the things so that people won't be able to take it all in at once and want to come back over and over' theme. it's high end.

all of the things.
my room also follows this theme. happy things go above my bed.
welcome to where we eat, sleep, and speak without thinking first. it's like a playground for silliness.

shelf of a thousand knickknacks. and a world map - a necessity for every house.

ghetto box: one of my most prized possessions.
motivation to go to the gym.
mug collection.

just a little house fit for some girls.

sackville, the home of S.A.M.

we have a running joke with our guy friends who live on the other side of our house. we like to say that S.A.M is located on the corner of estrobrooks and mansdown
sackville new brunswick, home of mount allison university, the swan pond, mel's tea room, ducks, the train bridge, and S.A.M.
da train tracks to nova scotia.
marsh.

the duck walk.

featuring ducks' homes.
postcard material.
mel's.

sackville is my home.
-M.

nice to meet you

together we are S.A.M., individually we are sarah, ali, and mary. getting schooled - or something like it - at mount allison university in sackville nb, we reside together in a nice cozy house, living off the joys of tea in interesting mugs, warm socks, home cooking, and unnecessary hashtags.

these are our faces. we are stunnas.
this blog is to be a collection of ravishing recipes, quirky quotes, tremendous theatre, silly stories, cute couture, and a way to keep in touch after we graduate-schmaduate.

these are things we do and love:

sarah

trying to become a less-hairy-less-bull-in-a-china-shop version of indiana jones, avid drawer of stegosauruses, lover of cardigans, book worm, enamored with ellie goulding, four-eyes, tries her best to be relatively fashionable, noms all the goldfish crackers. almost not quite average height.

ali

wiggles to the beats, gnome hunter and connoisseur, tree hugger and mountain climber, backstage theatre magic guru, scarves are her security blanket, artsy fartsy history girl, who has no filter. and oh yeah, she's a jew. l'chaim.

mary

small town girl hoping to leave it all behind and land in japan, where she can indulge in a new foreign culture, while maintaining her love to run and sweat, wishes life had background music, is sometimes considered a creeper with a camera, wants everything to do with floral prints (colour!), noms on anything veg-friendly. ginger.

we hope you like the things we say.
